Questions Worth
Asking Before You
Choose an Advisor.

Deciding who to bring into your financial life raises questions that rarely get asked out loud. I have tried to answer the ones that tend to come up before people decide to work with an advisor, honestly and without the runaround.

  • Whatever I recommend is built around your situation rather than a sales target, and you will know exactly how I am paid before you commit to anything. Compensation that stays hidden is what quietly bends guidance in the wrong direction, so putting it in plain view from the start is the simplest safeguard against that.

  • You work with me, the person whose name is on the door. Being small and founder-led means the advisor across from you at the start is the same one reviewing your plan years later, not a rotating cast you have to re-explain your life to each time.

  • A national brand brings name recognition, though that does not always come with real access. Choosing a smaller, local option means you can reach a decision-maker directly, your plan gets built around your life instead of a corporate template, and I know the community you live and work in. Whether that trade is worth making is a fair thing to weigh in a first conversation.

  • The relationship does not end when your first plan is built. As your job, your family, the markets, and your goals shift, we revisit and adjust so the plan keeps matching your life rather than the version of it from years ago.

  • Fit comes down to your situation more than a specific dollar figure. The real question is whether your decisions have grown complicated enough that an experienced second opinion would earn its keep, whether that is a rising income, a business, a retirement on the horizon, or a family depending on you. The straightforward way to find out is a short conversation about where you stand.

  • I treat it as a real problem to solve, not a worry to talk you out of. Rather than hand you a comfortable projection, my job is to be straight with you about where you genuinely stand and what would have to change if the numbers come in tighter than you hoped.
